    Resident Professional Golfer

    Professional golfers regularly engaged as such at any bona fide golf club or course as a resident or professional golfer.

    Assistant Professional Golfer

    Assistant professional golfers employed at a golf club or course either by the club itself or by the resident professional of that club.

    Playing Professional Golfer

    Tournament playing professional golfers. They can also be resident or Assistants at the respective golf clubs.

    Affiliate Professional Golfer

    Professional golfers within East Africa can join as an affiliate Professional golfer

    FAQs

    You can become a golf professional by meeting PGK’s minimum requirements. Professionals may work at golf clubs, teach the game, or compete in various professional golf tournaments.
    Applicants must demonstrate a high level of playing ability (low handicap), pass the PGK Playing Ability Test (PAT), submit the required documents, and complete the membership registration process. MUST have a handicap of 0 and below, MUST have represented Kenya at international events, MUST have won the GOTY Order of Merit. TEACHING PROFESSIONAL - MUST have level 2 Certification from South Africa PGA
    Submit an application through the PGK Secretariat with your handicap certificate, passport photos, national ID, Proposer letter a recommendation letter from the resident club and the applicable fees.
    Membership fees include a one-time joining fee and annual subscription. Benefits include access to the use of golf clubs within the country, sanctioned tournaments, professional development programs, ranking on the Order of Merit, and opportunities for local and international events.
    PGK professionals golfers are eligible to compete in the PGK Equator Tour, local pro-ams, club events, regional tours, and PGK-sanctioned international tournaments.
    Professionals golfers must renew their annual membership through the payment of subscriptions, uphold the Code of Conduct, regularly participate in PGK events, and can stay updated by following PGK circulars and communications shared via email and official platforms.
    PGK provides coaching support, tournament pathways, development programs, rules education and access to partnerships that create playing and earning opportunities.
